The Chiropractic approach to health is based on the premise that the human body is self-healing and self-regulating. This inborn intelligence resides in all of us, from the day we are conceived to the way we die.
The human body is designed to be healthy – in fact optimal health is normal! And if you’re not experiencing optimal health, then something must be interfering with your natural, inborn ability to self heal and experience life to the fullest.
The Master Control system in the human body is the Nervous System… consisting of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. The brain is protected by the hard skull and the spinal cord protected by the spine. The spine itself is made up of 24 vertebra and 23 discs. Between each vertebra and behind each disc exit the spinal nerves.
Chiropractors examine the function of the spine and its direct relationship with the brain and spinal cord. When correct function of the spine is lost, this may affect the communication between the brain and the body (via the spinal cord and nerves) and this in turn may decrease the body’s ability to function at 100%. When this happens parts of your body may hurt or may not work properly.
Chiropractors aim to restore function of the spine as well as improve the body’s ability to adapt to the stresses of everyday life. Stress can come in the form of bad posture, prolonged sitting, inactivity, physical trauma, emotional stress, diet and nutrition, and much more.
People who receive chiropractic care generally report feeling less pain, more flexibility, improved posture, decreased headaches, less injuries, increased energy, better quality of sleep and an overall feeling of general wellness
